Reiki, Raindrop, and Essential Oil Therapies for Animals
Reiki is a healing technique, where the therapist acts as a facilitator and conduit (channel) for the healing energy to be sent to the patient by means of hands-on or hands-off methods. The energy serves to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body, and helps to restore and balance the physical and emotional centers of the body. Other benefits include stress reduction and relief of anxiety helping the patient to move from the "fight or flight state" (cortisol release) to a more balanced state and well-being.
Raindrop technique is a powerful technique using therapeutic grade essential oils developed in the 1980s. It combines several modalities to bring balance and relaxation in the body.
Essential Oils are 100% pure therapeutic essential oils and are made through a distillation process. Essential Oils can be used in aromatherapy and/or be directly applied to the body. They all have a characteristic fragrance of the plant or flower from which they are extracted.
All these modalities help maintain health and well-being on the physical, mental and emotional level. These techniques also help with stress reduction and create deep relaxation, which are important for the body while healing from any behavioral issue, illness, or surgery.
All three modalities can be synergistic with regular veterinary care and treatments, such as Acupuncture, Laser, Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM), Ozone and other Western Medicine and Integrative therapies.
These combined techniques along with proper Veterinary care help to reduce pain and inflammation, provide stress relief, and reduce aggression due to behavioral disorders. They are also excellent to reduce trauma for abused animals and serve to assist in any emotional and physical healing from other traumatic events (car accidents, shelter animals, etc.)
Alternative therapies can assist with immune system strength, support hospice animals and help ease the transitional end of life process. These are all gentle non-invasive stress free and painless modalities.
