Dr. Jyl Rubin graduated in 1995 from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to entering veterinary school, Dr. Jyl became licensed as an Animal Technician in 1985.

She has an avid interest in non-domestic species (exotics) and has treated many varied species. She volunteered for three years at a primate and large cat sanctuary. During that time she gained valuable experience in dealing with problems in exotic animals and pets. Dr. Jyl's focus as a veterinarian and media specialist is to be a positive influence in the way humans treat, interact, and coexist with domestic, wild and exotic animals.

Dr. Jyl treats domestic, farm and exotic animals (i.e. dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, turtles, tortoises, lizards, potbelly and farm pigs, goats, sheep, llamas, camels, and a wide variety of other exotic species).

Dr. Jyl makes has made appearances on CBS KOVR-TV Channel 13 in Sacramento, and has been featured on the Animal Radio Network, America's Heartland, Animal Planet, and on Animal Miracles (shown on the PAX Network).

Facilities: Located in Orangevale, California, Dr. Jyl's country clinic offers animals care that is both professional and personal.

Mobile Clinic: Dr Jyl's Mobile Veterinary hospital is operated from the latest model of Dodgen Industries mobile veterinary unit. The unit is furnished with the latest in veterinary equipment. The unit has central heat and air, hot and cold running water (30 gallons), scrub/surgery table, EKG, and built-in X-ray unit.  The unit can use its external power source or its generator if power is unavailable. To insure comfort for the animals while in surgery, isoflurane anesthesia is on board with monitoring by pulse oximeter and doppler blood pressure monitor. Dental scaling and endodonic equipment is also on board.

Educational Programs: Dr. Jyl's Mobile Vet Connection is dedicated to education and enhancing the relationship between people and animals. She also provides educational enrichment lectures and live animal demonstrations to schools, seniors and any organization requesting this information service.
